Lisa and Joab met and married many (many!) years ago. They quickly discovered that both enjoy creating beautiful things, and began their website LittlePunkeroo to sell some of their crafts.
Joab is a ceramicist, using slip casting to produce the pottery pieces that Lisa then decorates. As well as pottery, both have other creative talents. Joab weaves using a homemade peg loom using recycled materials and is also skilled at bead and button making using a variety of materials but particularly clay and polymer clay.
Lisa is a textile artist, using knitting and crochet to create jewellery and pieces of art work, some of which are on display and are available in the The Lock Gallery in Coventry where she is a resident artist. Lisa spins her own wool on her spinning wheel and drop spindle. Friends and family can be seen wearing her creations!
Lisa and Joab began YouPunkeroo to bring crafts to everyone, and to help people unleash their inner creativity. Joab is a clinical social worker with many years of experience providing individual and group support to young people with physical impairments and to children where there is a concern regarding social, emotional and behavioural well being. Lisa spent many years working as a carer for older adults with varying disabilities. She trained as an Occupational Therapist and is also an experienced group facilitator, leading groups of adults and children.
As well pottery painting, both Lisa and Joab are available to teach many other crafts; Knitting, crochet, spinning (drop spindle and spinning wheel), bead making with polymer clay, weaving on a peg loom, and slipcasting. For more information on tuition please use the contact page to get in touch!
